My role within the company is to materialise the ideas created by the Design Team into plans, elevations and rendered visuals using our CAD package Planit. This allows us to create a virtual 3D model of the prospective house and kitchen with as much or as little detail as required.

Where possible I like to ‘draw in’ the whole room in which the kitchen is going to be situated; this allows the client to understand the function and size of the kitchen layout in relation to the property’s footprint. This comes into play particularly well when we are working with a modest and/or open plan living space or in conjunction with strong architectural features, both new and old.

Whilst the perspective drawings and visuals aid our Design Team to translate their ideas direct to the client, the most important aspect of my job is the precise and detailed plans produced for both internal and external use. The plans are integral to our stringent internal routine between the costing process and ordering system and therefore have to be the most accurate and reliable source of information for each project. The plan is used by Costing to form the quotation and is then Procurement’s main reference upon order. A plan’s ultimate use is for site assistance and is an important element to our DoveTail Management system and ensuring that site is supplied with all the necessary information for a smooth and efficient fit.
