Bowes Street

Client: GB Building Solutions
Location: Moss Side, Manchester

Bowes Street is an award-winning example of the power of regeneration in the UK today. The development was brought to life through a unique partnership between Manchester City Council, Miller Homes and GB Building Solutions.

The refurbishment of 64 Victorian terraced properties formed the nucleus of this affordable housing regeneration initiative with a mix of 2, 3 and 4 bedroom homes being the result with a further seven eco homes all built to a high specification. Project Kitchens was commissioned to design and supply each kitchen throughout the scheme.

Working in the first instance with Manchester City Council and their award winning architects MBLA, and subsequently with GB Building Solutions as the schemes nominated kitchen supplier, Project Kitchens design team were tasked with developing kitchen concepts that would compliment the heritage of the site whilst providing every modern convenience in the open plan living/dining spaces.

This was achieved through the combined use of sleek Signia and SieMatic ranges to reflect the varying price points on offer alongside a choice of neutral shades and vibrant reds to give the purchaser a wide colour choice. Each kitchen benefited from 13mm Corian worktops as a perfect finishing touch.

The development, which was named “Infusion”, is part of a wider regeneration program that is on-going in the area.
